Making a Healthier Pizza
Your pizza can be fresh and healthy
If you are looking for health food, you may think that pizza probably isn’t it. Surprisingly, that may not be entirely true. In a study published by the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, researchers found that eating pizza may actually be good for you. A study of almost 1,000 Italians over four years found that those who ate pizza at least once a week had a 30 percent lower risk of experiencing a heart attack than those who never ate pizza. The researchers attributed this heart-healthy effect to the use of olive oil and tomato sauce on pizza, both of which offer cardio protective benefits.
So eat up! Remember, pizza is more than just a meal. It is a sensory experience, with the taste, feel, smell, and even the way it looks feeding not only our bodies, but our souls. Still, if you want to eat pizza often, you’ll eventually have to face the fact that it can negatively affect your waistline. To make sure that you are getting all the health benefits you can, you need to make your pizza as healthy as possible. So, it helps to know some basic tips and strategies to help you get the most out of this surprisingly healthy meal.
